A Journey Back to Balance: Reflections from the Moon Dance 14-Day Cleanse

Yesterday, I completed my Moon Dance 14-Day Cleanse—a ritual I’ve been returning to for over a decade. Each year, it evolves as I deepen my studies in Ayurveda, yoga, and holistic wellness, and every time, the experience reveals new layers of insight, compassion, and truth.

This round felt especially powerful. I had the honor of guiding an incredible group of souls—women who showed up with open hearts, courage, and vulnerability. Together, we moved through the waves of this journey: the cravings, the discomfort, the release, and ultimately, the clarity that comes from aligning body, mind, and spirit.

To be honest, I needed this cleanse more than ever. The past couple of months had slipped into a cycle of indulgence—too much sugar, dairy, and gluten. My energy was low, my digestion sluggish, my mood all over the place. I felt bloated and disconnected from my body. This cleanse was the reset I didn’t even realize I was desperately craving.

Every time I do this cleanse, I learn something new about myself—my tendencies, my attachments, my resilience, and my strength. The first week always humbles me. The withdrawal symptoms, the mental chatter around food, the emotional ups and downs—it’s real work. But by day seven, something shifts. The fog begins to lift. My digestion calms, my energy steadies, and my mind clears. The inflammation, bloating, and heaviness start to dissolve.

I’m always amazed by how quickly the body remembers what it means to feel good. In just two weeks, your taste buds reset, your cravings soften, and you begin to appreciate the pure, vibrant flavors of whole foods again. Yes, it takes more time and intention to prepare nourishing meals. Yes, it can be inconvenient, uncomfortable, and even isolating at times. People may question your choices or tell you they could never do it.

But the truth is—you can. And it’s worth it.

In Sanskrit, the word Sattva means purity, clarity, and harmony. That’s what this cleanse cultivates—a return to sattva. When your body is light, your mind is calm, and your energy is clear, that feeling overflows into every part of your life. You think more clearly. You speak more kindly. You love more deeply. You show up more fully.

Now, I’m no angel. I had my moments—of frustration, impatience, even snapping at those around me during the height of withdrawal. But that, too, is part of the process. Cleansing brings the shadows to the surface so they can be acknowledged and released.

What makes the Moon Dance Cleanse unique is that it’s not just about food—it’s a mind-body-spirit reset. Each day we weave in mindful movement, breathwork, and meditation practices that support emotional and energetic detoxification. It’s a holistic ritual designed to realign you with your natural rhythms and remind you of your innate wholeness.

Over the years, this cleanse has become a sacred anchor in my life. It keeps me accountable. It reminds me that I am worth the investment—that I deserve to feel good in my body, to eat foods that are nourishing, simple, and real.

Whenever I drift away from this truth, I feel it. My body protests. My mind clouds. My spirit dims. But each time I return to this ritual, I feel empowered, grounded, and free once again.

Today, I feel lighter. More stable. More alive.
And more connected than ever—to my body, my breath, and my purpose.

If you’ve been feeling heavy, disconnected, or out of alignment, maybe it’s time for your own reset. The Moon Dance Cleanse isn’t about perfection—it’s about coming home to yourself, one mindful bite, one conscious breath at a time.
