Ancient Teachings for a Life Fully Lived: The School of Sacred Wisdom

I created The School of Sacred Wisdom for the person who knows there is more to Yoga than what happens on the mat.

Maybe you feel called to teach yoga. Maybe you already teach and are craving a deeper, more expansive education. Maybe you have no desire to teach at all, but you want to understand the wisdom, philosophy, history, energy, and meaning beneath the practices you love.

Maybe you are simply feeling the pull toward something deeper.

Wherever you are beginning, you are welcome here.

The School of Sacred Wisdom is a virtual, multidisciplinary school devoted to the study, practice, and embodiment of Yoga, Ayurveda, Kundalini, Tantra, meditation, astrology, anatomy, philosophy, subtle-body wisdom, and the sacred traditions that teach us how to live with greater awareness.

This is a yoga school—but it is so much more than a yoga teacher training.

It is an invitation to root into your truth, rise into your power, rewild the conditioning that has separated you from your innate wisdom, and radiate what you are here to embody and share.

You do not need a previous yoga certification to begin. You do not need to know exactly where this path will lead you. You do not need to arrive as an expert or put your life on hold to participate.

You only need curiosity, openness, and a willingness to meet yourself more deeply.

A Virtual School You Can Enter From Anywhere

The School of Sacred Wisdom was intentionally created as a flexible virtual experience so you can study from wherever life has planted you.

Inside the student portal, you will find a growing library of on-demand lectures, yoga classes, practices, workshops, educational resources, and course materials. New teachings are added weekly, allowing the school to remain alive, evolving, and responsive to the students moving through it.

You can log in when it works for you, move through the material at your own pace, and return to the teachings as often as you need.

Each month, we will also gather live for a rotating schedule of experiences that may include:

  • Yoga and embodiment classes

  • Teaching and sequencing labs

  • Office hours and question-and-answer sessions

  • Book chats and philosophy conversations

  • Case studies and community discussions

  • Bonus lectures

  • Specialty workshops

  • Practice-teaching opportunities

  • Guest-teacher sessions

Every live session is recorded and added to the student portal. If you cannot join us in real time, you will never have to worry about missing the teaching. You can watch the recording when your schedule allows and revisit it whenever you feel called.

You will also be invited into our private WhatsApp community—a space to ask questions, share reflections, celebrate your progress, receive school updates, and connect with the people studying beside you.

You may complete much of the coursework independently, but you will not move through this experience alone.

A School Designed for Real Life

I know what it feels like to want to learn, grow, and immerse yourself in something meaningful while also navigating work, family, motherhood, school, business, relationships, caregiving, healing, and the responsibilities of being human.

This school was created for people whose lives are already full.

It is for mothers, caregivers, business owners, college students, professionals, teachers, creatives, seekers, and anyone who wants a deep and meaningful education without being asked to abandon the life they are already living.

The program offers structure without rigidity, support without pressure, and depth without demanding that you move according to someone else’s timeline.

Some seasons may allow you to immerse yourself in the material. Other seasons may ask you to move slowly, revisit a lecture, spend more time practicing, or temporarily place your coursework on the shelf while you tend to your life.

That is not falling behind.

That is part of the practice.

Tantra reminds us that life itself is the path.

Your work, family, relationships, responsibilities, joys, challenges, and ordinary days do not exist outside your spiritual practice. They are where the teachings are tested, integrated, and made real.

The intention of this school is not to add another source of pressure to your life. It is to help you weave study, practice, reflection, and community into the life you are already living.

To me, that is deeply Tantric: not leaving our lives in search of the sacred, but learning how to recognize the sacred within them.

The Level 1 Journey

Level 1 is the foundational path within The School of Sacred Wisdom.

It offers a structured, supportive, and expansive exploration of the teachings and practices that form the foundation of both personal transformation and skillful, ethical teaching.

Level 1 is open to everyone.

If you want to become a yoga teacher, this program gives you a meaningful and accredited path toward doing so.

If you already have a 200-hour certification and want to deepen or expand your education, you are welcome.

If you do not have a yoga certification but feel curious and ready to begin, you are welcome.

If your intention is entirely personal and you want to study these teachings for your own growth, you are welcome too.

Teaching is one possible expression of this journey, but it is not the only reason to belong here.

This path may be for you if:

  • You feel called to become a yoga teacher

  • You already teach and want to deepen your knowledge

  • You want to understand more than asana

  • You are drawn to Yoga, Ayurveda, Kundalini, Tantra, meditation, or astrology

  • You want to create a more meaningful personal practice

  • You are craving structure, mentorship, and community

  • You want an education that can move alongside your real life

  • You are ready to question old conditioning and limiting beliefs

  • You want to embody these teachings rather than simply collect information about them

What We Will Study

The School of Sacred Wisdom brings together many interconnected teachings so you can explore Yoga as a living, multidimensional tradition.

Throughout Level 1, we will study:

  • Yoga philosophy, history, ethics, and sacred texts

  • Vinyasa, slow flow, yin, restorative, Yoga Nidra, Kundalini, Tantra, and Bhakti Yoga

  • Ayurveda and the art of living in relationship with nature

  • Western and Vedic astrology

  • Anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and accessible movement

  • Meditation, pranayama, kriya, mantra, and mudra

  • Chakras, nadis, koshas, vayus, and the subtle body

  • Sequencing, cueing, theming, music, and class development

  • Trauma-aware teaching, consent, inclusivity, and boundaries

  • Holding space with integrity and professionalism

  • The practical and business foundations of teaching

  • Personal practice, self-inquiry, and embodied integration

You will learn directly from me as well as from guest teachers who bring their own knowledge, lived experience, and areas of expertise into the school.

I believe it is important for students to encounter more than one voice, body, background, teaching style, and perspective. These additional voices will give you a broader educational foundation while helping you develop your own authentic relationship with the material.

My role is not to tell you exactly what to think, hand you a script for spirituality, or turn you into a copy of me.

My role is to offer strong foundations, meaningful experiences, thoughtful guidance, and a supportive place for you to question, practice, discern, and grow.

The Philosophy of the School

The philosophy of The School of Sacred Wisdom is held within four living pillars:

Root

We begin by creating a foundation.

To root is to return to your body, your breath, your truth, and the reality of where you are right now.

It is the study of Yoga’s history, philosophy, anatomy, ethics, lineage, and foundational teachings so we can practice and share them with greater understanding and integrity.

Rooting asks us to slow down long enough to notice what is holding us, what is shaping us, and what is asking to be strengthened.

Before we reach outward, we learn how to belong within ourselves.

Rise

From strong roots, we rise.

To rise is to expand your knowledge, strengthen your voice, build confidence, and recognize your capacity.

It is the willingness to practice, try, question, teach, receive feedback, make mistakes, and continue growing.

Rising is not about becoming better than someone else. It is about becoming more fully available for your own life. It is learning to trust what you know while remaining humble enough to keep learning.

You begin to recognize that your voice matters, your experience has value, and you are capable of becoming an intentional student, teacher, guide, and participant in your own transformation.

Rewild

To rewild is to question the conditioning, perfectionism, fear, inherited expectations, and untruths that have separated you from your innate wisdom.

It is the process of remembering that you are cyclical, intuitive, embodied, creative, and deeply connected to the natural world.

Rewilding does not mean rejecting structure, responsibility, or tradition. It means learning to discern what is true, ethical, responsible, and alive for you.

It invites you to loosen your attachment to who you were told to be so you can discover who you are beneath the noise.

This is where the teachings move beyond information and begin to transform how you live.

Radiate

To radiate is to embody and share what you have learned.

For some students, this will look like teaching yoga. For others, it may change the way they parent, lead, create, communicate, serve, build a business, care for their health, or move through their relationships.

Radiance is not performance. It is not proving how much you know or presenting yourself as someone who has all the answers.

It is what naturally begins to shine through you when your inner life and outer actions become more aligned.

The goal of this school is not simply to help you collect more information.

It is to help you root, rise, rewild, and radiate—to live these teachings in a way that is honest, responsible, and uniquely your own.

Our Mission

The mission of The School of Sacred Wisdom is to make deep, multidimensional spiritual education accessible to people living real and beautifully complex lives.

I created this school to honor ancient wisdom while exploring how these teachings can be responsibly understood, practiced, and embodied within the modern world.

The school is committed to education that is thoughtful, inclusive, experiential, trauma-aware, and rooted in personal responsibility, ethical practice, and collective care.

Wisdom is not something reserved for a select few.

It is something we cultivate through study, practice, self-inquiry, relationship, discernment, humility, and the courage to live what we are learning.

The Vision

My vision for The School of Sacred Wisdom extends far beyond graduating yoga teachers.

I envision a living school and an enduring community of people who feel rooted within themselves, connected to the natural world, curious about the mysteries of life, and empowered to share what they have embodied in ways that feel authentic to them.

Some graduates will teach yoga. Others will weave these teachings into counseling, caregiving, wellness, creative work, leadership, family life, business, or community service.

Some may never lead a formal class and instead discover that the deepest transformation occurred in the way they live, love, communicate, rest, create, make decisions, and care for themselves and others.

The goal is not to produce identical teachers or tell you what to believe.

The vision is to give you meaningful foundations, diverse perspectives, continued mentorship, and space to uncover the wisdom that already lives within you.

Learning Through Study, Practice, and Embodiment

Sacred wisdom cannot be fully understood through intellectual study alone.

We have to experience it.

We have to practice it, observe it, question it, teach it, reflect upon it, and allow it to change the way we meet ourselves and the world.

That is why Level 1 includes both educational coursework and embodied learning experiences. The requirements are not meant to create unnecessary pressure or rush you toward a finish line. They are designed to help the teachings move beyond the screen and into your lived experience.

You will be given a clear path, but you will have the freedom to walk that path at a pace that works with your life.

Required Reading

Throughout Level 1, you will read five core texts:

  • Happy, Healthy, Sexy by Katie Silcox

  • Radiant Rest by Tracee Stanley

  • Awakening Shakti by Sally Kempton

  • Yoga Anatomy by Leslie Kaminoff and Amy Matthews

  • Your Body Speaks Your Mind by Deb Shapiro

For each book, you will submit a one- to two-page reflection addressing its central teachings, what it invited you to question, and how its ideas may responsibly inform your personal practice or teaching.

These are not traditional book reports.

I want you to genuinely engage with the material. You are allowed to question what you read. You are encouraged to notice what resonates, what challenges you, what requires further discernment, and how each teaching might be applied responsibly.

The intention is not simply to prove that you finished the book. It is to create a relationship with what you have read.

Your Level 1 Requirements

To graduate and receive your Level 1 certificate, you will need to:

  • Complete all required coursework

  • Submit all five reading reflections

  • Complete 40 personal practices

  • Complete 15 class observations

  • Submit all seven practice-teaching classes

  • Pass the final practicum with a score of at least 80%

  • Pass the written examination with a score of at least 80%

  • Complete the final long-form reflection

  • Complete any required remediation

  • Demonstrate ethical and professional conduct

Your 40 personal practices will help you become a more attentive student of your own body, mind, energy, and experience. They invite you to notice not only what you practiced, but how you responded, what shifted, what challenged you, and what you learned about yourself.

Your 15 class observations will teach you to look beyond the postures. You will begin noticing sequencing, pacing, cueing, language, accessibility, theming, consent, boundaries, teacher presence, and the subtle choices that shape the experience of a class.

Your seven practice-teaching classes will allow you to apply what you are learning gradually. You will strengthen your voice, build experience, experiment with different elements of teaching, and become more comfortable guiding others before completing your final practicum.

The written examination and final long-form reflection will help you bring the pieces together, demonstrate your understanding, and recognize not only what you have learned, but how you have grown.

Remediation, when required, is not a punishment or failure. It is additional support—an opportunity to revisit an area, strengthen your understanding, and move forward with greater confidence.

You do not have to be perfect to complete this program.

You do have to be willing to participate, practice, reflect, receive feedback, and grow.

Why I Chose the American Yoga Council

The School of Sacred Wisdom is an accredited yoga school through the American Yoga Council.

I chose the American Yoga Council because I wanted our students to have a recognized educational path that honors meaningful standards, accountability, professional development, and community while allowing the study of Yoga to remain expansive, living, and rooted in more than performance or credentialing.

Upon successfully completing all Level 1 requirements, you will be qualified to register with the American Yoga Council.

For those who want to teach, registration offers an opportunity to be recognized within a larger professional yoga community and receive a public teacher listing.

Accreditation matters because it reflects the depth, structure, learning standards, ethics, and responsibility held within the program. It gives students who feel called to teach a recognized next step while preserving space for those whose primary intention is personal study and transformation.

But this school was never created solely to help someone collect another certificate.

A certificate can acknowledge what you have completed.

Embodiment reveals what you have truly learned.

Why I Created The School of Sacred Wisdom

I’m Mandee Peterson, founder of Moon Dance Wellness Co. and The School of Sacred Wisdom.

Yoga entered my life long before I imagined that I would one day create a school.

What began as a practice became a way of surviving, healing, grieving, remembering, rebuilding, and returning to myself.

Over the years, my studies expanded through Yoga, Ayurveda, Kundalini, Tantra, meditation, astrology, massage, herbalism, and holistic health. These teachings have carried me through recovery, motherhood, postpartum depression, entrepreneurship, grief, transformation, and the many identities and seasons we move through over a lifetime.

I have spent more than a decade studying these traditions, but I do not believe that wisdom comes only from certifications, books, or the number of hours we have accumulated.

My greatest teachers have also been life, loss, love, motherhood, grief, daily practice, my students, my mistakes, and the willingness to begin again.

Moon Dance Wellness Co. was born from my desire to create the kind of wellness space I had longed for: one where people could be seen, celebrated, challenged, and supported without being asked to separate their strength from their softness or their spiritual practice from their humanity.

As I continued teaching, studying, practicing, and mentoring others, I realized how deeply I wanted to create something more expansive.

I wanted to build the kind of school I would want to study within.

A school where Yoga was honored as more than movement.

A school where ancient wisdom could meet modern life.

A school where different traditions could be explored with reverence, curiosity, practicality, and heart.

A school where students could learn from multiple teachers while being encouraged to find their own authentic voice.

A school where you would not have to sacrifice your family, career, health, or humanity in order to belong.

A school where we could study the teachings seriously without taking ourselves out of life to do it.

The School of Sacred Wisdom is the culmination of years of education, practice, teaching, questioning, unlearning, and living.

It is also still alive and becoming.

I am still learning. I am still questioning. I am still practicing. I am still being changed by these teachings.

As I continue to study and evolve, the school will continue to grow. New lectures, classes, workshops, guest teachers, conversations, practices, resources, and discoveries will continue to be woven into the experience.

You are not entering a static course that has been recorded, completed, and left behind.

You are entering a living school.

Community During the Program—and Beyond It

One of the most important parts of this school is the community surrounding it.

The private WhatsApp space and monthly live gatherings give you a place to ask questions, share discoveries, receive support, connect with other students, and remember that you are part of something larger than your individual coursework.

But I do not want that sense of connection to disappear the moment you complete Level 1.

Graduation is not an ending. It is a threshold.

With either investment option, you will receive lifetime access to the student portal and continued access to livestream office hours.

You can return to the lectures, revisit the practices, ask new questions, reconnect with the material, and continue learning as both your life and the school evolve.

The teachings will meet you differently as you change. A lecture you hear today may reveal something entirely new when you return to it years from now. A practice may not fully speak to you until you have lived through the season that helps you understand it.

That is the nature of sacred study.

It is not something we finish. It is a relationship we continue nurturing.

Your Investment

There are two ways to join Level 1 of The School of Sacred Wisdom:

Pay in Full

  • New teachings and resources added weekly

  • Monthly live classes, labs, conversations, and workshops

The payment option you choose does not change the experience you receive. Both options include the same curriculum, community, support, lifetime portal access, and continued office-hour access.

Begin Exactly Where You Are

You do not need to have everything figured out before you begin.

You do not need to arrive as an expert.

You do not need to become someone else to walk this path.

You do not have to put your life on hold, rush through the material, or force yourself to move according to someone else’s pace.

Come with your curiosity.

Come with your questions.

Come with your lived experience, responsibilities, dreams, doubts, and desire to understand these teachings more deeply.

This school was created to support you as you study and as you live—to help you discover that the two do not have to be separate.

You can deepen your practice while raising your family.

You can study sacred philosophy while building a business, attending college, or pursuing a career.

You can honor your responsibilities while making space for yourself.

You can move slowly and still move forward.

You can become a yoga teacher, deepen the teacher you already are, or allow these teachings to transform your personal life in ways you cannot yet imagine.

This is your invitation to root into your truth, rise into your power, rewild what no longer belongs to you, and radiate the wisdom you are here to embody.

The portal is open. The community is gathering. Your journey can begin exactly where you are.

Welcome to The School of Sacred Wisdom.

I would be honored to study, practice, and walk this path alongside you.
