A Season of Balance: Indulgence & Alignment

This past week was pure medicine for my soul. My husband and I escaped to the desert, celebrating not only my (belated) birthday but also a remarkable milestone: ten years together. A whole decade. It feels surreal—so full and rich, yet it’s gone by in the blink of an eye.

We celebrated in the best way possible—by fully indulging. Luxurious meals, slow mornings, deep conversations, and lots of laughter. Sometimes you just have to let yourself live it up, unapologetically. And it was magical.

But as with all moments of bliss, there comes the transition back into everyday life. I’m stepping back into my full-time role as a work-from-home, stay-at-home mama. A role that is both beautiful and endlessly challenging. Each day feels like a marathon of tiny hurdles— snack times, deadlines, laundry, and the constant pivoting between nurturing others and nurturing myself. The juggle is real.

And right now, more than ever, I’m craving balance.

Shifting Seasons, Shifting Energy

We’re standing on the threshold of a potent cosmic and seasonal transition: the Fall Equinox, a New Moon, and a Solar Eclipse—all converging in one breath.

The Fall Equinox marks the moment when day and night are perfectly balanced, a reminder that harmony is not only possible but necessary. It’s the universe’s nudge to realign, to ground, to reflect on what we’ve harvested and what we’re ready to release.

The New Moon Solar Eclipse is like a cosmic reset button. Eclipses bring endings and beginnings, often with an intensity that can feel like the rug being pulled out from under us—but only so we can land on steadier ground. With this eclipse occurring during the shift from Virgo into Libra, we’re asked to weave together the practical with the relational. Virgo brings discernment, order, and care for the body; Libra calls us to honor connection, beauty, and balance in relationships.

Together, these energies invite us to:

  • Release old patterns that keep us out of alignment.

  • Plant seeds of harmony, not just for ourselves but for the people we love.

  • Balance the scales, between work and rest, giving and receiving, control and surrender.

As we move into the darker half of the year, it’s natural to feel heavier. I’ve noticed it in myself—eating denser, more indulgent foods, lingering in the comforts of the material world. Beautiful in their own way, but also a reminder that too much of anything can pull me off center.

Returning to Balance

That’s where my focus is turning now: toward tri-doshic balance. In Ayurveda, the doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha) represent the three energies that govern body and mind. When one gets too strong or too weak, we feel the imbalance—physically, emotionally, spiritually.

As the seasons shift, so do our bodies and minds. The key is adapting and harmonizing, so we can flow with nature instead of against it. For me, this means:

  • Choosing foods that nourish but don’t weigh me down.

  • Creating space for stillness and breath in the midst of daily chaos.

  • Honoring both structure (Virgo energy) and connection (Libra energy).

  • Allowing indulgence and discipline to coexist.

It’s about tuning my systems so that I can operate optimally, while still giving myself permission to savor life’s sweetness.

An Invitation

If you, too, are feeling the pull to recalibrate and restore balance during this powerful season, I’d love to share the tools that are supporting me. I’m offering a virtual workshop designed to help you ground, harmonize, and align with this equinox/eclipse energy:

This is a time for renewal, for rebalancing, for remembering that we are nature—and when we live in harmony with her rhythms, everything flows more gracefully.

Here’s to love that lasts, indulgence that nourishes, and balance that carries us into the darker season with light in our hearts.
